Composition and Literary Studies Graduate Certificate

Program Overview

College of Humanities and Social Sciences

This six-course (18-credit) certificate program is designed for teachers with a master's degree (in any field) who require 18 hours of graduate courses in English or a related subfield in order to meet the Higher Learning Commission's credential requirement for teaching dual enrollment/undergraduate English courses. Teachers without a master's degree can take the certificate course as part of the M.A.T. in English Education.

Certificate Requirements — 18 Credits

Working with a program advisor the student will select six courses (18 credits) of which a minimum four (12 credits) must be from English (ENG) and/or English Education (EED). With advisor consent, the remaining two courses (6 credits) may be from a related subfield.
