Comprehensive Exam
Students in the Exercise Physiology Emphasis must pass a specified national certification exam and provide proof of successful completion to satisfy the comprehensive examination requirement. The specified certification must be one of the following:
- American College of Sports Medicine’s Health Fitness Specialist
- Clinical Exercise Specialist
- Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist
- Cancer Exercise Trainer
- National Strength and Conditioning Association’s Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification
The comprehensive exams (certification) must be completed during the final semester.
Thesis Option (Elective Credit Hours — 6)
The thesis option hours may be included as elective hours within a student’s program. The Thesis option requires the completion of an experimental research project (problem development, data collection and analysis, write-up, and defense).
