Applicants to the master’s programs and graduate licensure program must apply to the University of Northern Colorado Graduate School before the program area reviews the applicant’s request for admission. To apply, submit the following materials in a single packet along with the application fee. Failure to submit all required materials will delay the evaluation and screening of your application.

Exercise Science Emphasis
The Master of Science in Sport and Exercise Science: Exercise Science is the integrated study of human movement, encompassing the physiological, mechanical, and behavioral of physical activity. Concentration areas within this discipline include biomechanics, exercise physiology, and social psychology of sport and physical activity. This degree program includes a broad base of content knowledge and provides opportunities for students to become involved in laboratory, clinical, and basic science research. Students in this program can choose between a Thesis Option or a Professional Research Project Option.

Sport Administration Emphasis
The Master of Science in Sport and Exercise Science: Sport Administration Emphasis, curriculum follows the guidelines set for the preparation of students in sport management by the National Association for Sport and Physical Education and the North American Society for Sport Management. Students are prepared to assume positions in the management of sport in collegiate athletic programs and professional, Olympic and commercial sport business. The M.S. program requires a minimum of 30 hours.

Sport Pedagogy Emphasis
The Master of Science in Sport and Exercise Science: Sport Pedagogy Emphasis is designed for individuals who plan to provide leadership in school-related physical education and physical activity settings. Students in this program examine curriculum and instruction that successful teachers employ to inspire today’s youth to enjoy the benefits of an active and healthy lifestyle. Your graduate-level course work is informed by the highest standards, including those of the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE).
