K-12 Bilingual Education Endorsement
The Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD)/Bilingual Education Specialist Endorsement is administered by Teaching English as a Second Language and leads to a dual certification in both ESL/CLD and Bilingual Education. The program is designed for Elementary, Secondary and K-12 education licensure students. Students will acquire second language acquisition knowledge and pedagogy skills, skills to teach bilingually, and increased knowledge in the Spanish language.
Admissions Requirements:
Students must submit the Application for Admission to ESL/CLD Endorsement. Information is available in the School of Teacher Education office located in McKee 216. The application includes:
- Application form
- Major/Minor Form
- Other materials as designated
Students are highly encouraged to study abroad.
A student's GPA will be a consideration in the selection of those students admitted to the CLD Bilingual Education Specialist Endorsement.

SPAN 412 | Spanish for Bilingual Education II | 3 |
Complete one of the following options:

Note: The Heritage Speaker courses must have program approval through a placement exam.
Students must student teach in a bilingual classroom with English learners.
