Military Tuition Assistance Return Policy
Tuition Assistance (TA) is awarded to a student under the assumption that the student will stay enrolled at their current institution for the entire period for which the TA is awarded. If a student withdraws before the completion of a term, the student may no longer be eligible for the full amount of TA funds that they were originally awarded.
In order to comply with Department of Defense policies, the University of Northern Colorado will now return any unearned TA funds on a prorated basis. The prorate refund will be issued to the branch of military service that originally issued it. No refund will be issued to the student.
If a student stops attending due to a military service obligation, the University of Northern Colorado will work them to identify if any solutions are available that will not result in student debt for the returned portion.
