Student Life

The Office of Student Life provides students with involvement and leadership opportunities that enhance the academic experience. Center for Peer Education (CPE)

The Center for Peer Education is an undergraduate student led organization that provides prevention education to student peers about alcohol, tobacco, marijuana and other drugs, mental health and overall healthy decision making. We hope that through education and awareness, we can equip our peers with the necessary tools to make safe and responsible decisions in an effort to create a safe and healthy campus experience. www.unco.edu/cpe 

Fraternity & Sorority Life (FSL)

Fraternity and Sorority Life at UNC exists to foster growth and development among students while forming lifelong bonds through academics, personal relationships, social activities, and service-based programming. The Interfraternity Council (IFC) represents traditional, social fraternities on campus. The Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) represents historically Latin based organizations and promotes positive cultural awareness on campus and the surrounding communities. The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) is composed of nine Historically Black International Greek letter Sororities and Fraternities; collectively, these organizations are referred to as “The Divine Nine.” The Panhellenic Council (CPC) is the governing body of the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities, which are traditional, social organizations. Office of Student Organizations (OSO)

Student Organizations at UNC range from professional, honorary, and academic, to social, cultural, political, and religious. Joining one of the over 140 Student Organizations is a great way to develop leadership skills, and studies have shown that involvement in extra-curricular activities actually benefits a student's academic success. www.unco.edu/clubs-organizations/

President's Leadership Program (PLP)

The UNC President’s Leadership Program (PLP) is a scholarship awarding, 2-year cohort based leadership development program open to all sophomores to be completed during their Junior and Senior years.  The PLP is focused on providing emerging leaders opportunities to grow and develop in the areas of Social Intelligence, Ethics, Problem-Solving, Strategic Planning, and Relational Development.

Student Senate

Student Senate is a governing body dedicated to serving the students of UNC. It is composed of 23 members: 8 cabinet members and 15 senators (3 from each college at UNC). Members of other areas of campus also sit on Senate including representatives from the Residence Hall Association, Graduate Student Association, UNC Faculty, Professional Administrative Staff Council, and Classified Staff Council. www.unco.edu/student-senate/

University Program Council (UPC)

This student-run, student-funded organization sponsors open mic nights, video game tournaments, comedians, concerts and other special events at low or no cost to students.
