The course of study is a highly individualized program based on the background of the student and is designed to provide broad knowledge base for all areas of special education. Depending upon the licensure of the student, a program is designed to provide an in-depth knowledge of the field of special education, emphasizing the wide variety of children with special education needs with regard to delivery systems, evaluation, programming, identification, finance, law and due process.
Federal student loans are not currently available to students who are pursuing a CO state license (initial or additional) through UNC's stand-alone, graduate level licensure programs without being simultaneously enrolled in a Masters, Specialist, or Doctoral program.

Program Requirements
The Special Education Administration endorsement program is designed to prepare students to become special education administrators.
Applicants to the Special Education Administration endorsement must have:
- at least a Masters degree in Special Education from an accredited institution of higher education
- a valid Special Education license or a school psychologist license; or be a qualified special school service provider (school counselor or school psychologist license)
- completed three years of successful experience as a licensed Special Education teacher or school psychologist/special service provider.
