Military Tuition Assistance Return Policy

Tuition Assistance (TA) is awarded to a student under the assumption that the student will stay enrolled at their current institution for the entire period for which the TA is awarded. If a student withdraws before the completion of a term, the student may no longer be eligible for the full amount of TA funds that they were originally awarded.

In compliance with Department of Defense regulatory policies, the University of Northern Colorado will now return any unearned TA funds on a prorated basis. The prorated refund will be issued to the branch of military service that originally issued it. No refund will be issued to the student.

Students who withdrawal or stop out due to a military service obligation, the University of Northern Colorado will work to identify any solutions to avoid the student receiving a debt.
