Communication Sciences and Disorders

Program Overview

College of Natural and Health Sciences

The minor in Communication Sciences and Disorders is designed for students who are interested in all aspects of human and animal sound production and perception related to communication. Students will find this program can be tailored to complement various areas with the option of selecting courses in acoustics, anatomy and physiology, linguistics, and speech-language and hearing development and disorders. 

Note: The minor in Communication Sciences and Disorders does not lead to licensure or certification that would permit practice in either Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology. Students earning a minor in Communication Sciences and Disorders must obtain a final grade of C- or better in all courses counting toward the minor.

A minimum of 6 upper division credits (300-500 level) in the minor must be earned from UNC.
