College-Level Examination Program (CLEP)
CLEP offers another opportunity to earn credit through demonstration of superior performance in subject matter examinations. CLEP credit is offered for certain courses. A maximum of 30 credit hours can be applied towards graduation. CLEP credit is counted as non-residency transfer work. To identify CLEP testing locations and register to take the CLEP exam visit clep.collegeboard.org/register.
The University of Northern Colorado awards credit for the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) General and Subject Examinations to students who scored at or above the required score. There is a three-month waiting period for students who wish to retest an examination they have already completed.
CLEP is treated as transfer work. Transfer coursework granted equivalency at UNC will be subject to course repeatability rules and hours will only be awarded for one passed completion. For additional information visit the Course Repeat policy in the University Catalog.
CLEP credit is counted as non-residency transfer work.
CLEP equivalency charts are available at www.unco.edu/registrar/transfer/credit-exam.aspx.
