Audit

General Information

Students who audit a course receive a grade of NC and earn no academic credit. Auditors are expected to attend class but are not required to complete assignments or exams. Students who do not attend class may be administratively removed from the course.

Tuition and mandatory fees apply to audited courses unless otherwise specified below. Audited courses are not eligible for the College Opportunity Fund (COF) stipend.

Current students must first register for the course and then contact the Office of the Registrar to change the registration status to audit. Enrollment is subject to space availability. Course status, including audit, may not be changed after the add-deadline for the applicable term.

Senior Citizens

Students aged 65 or older may audit courses with no tuition charge; applicable course fees still apply. All other audit policies and deadlines apply.

Veterans and Colorado National Guard

Veterans discharged under conditions other than dishonorable and members of the Colorado National Guard may audit up to three courses per academic semester at a flat rate of $10 per course. All mandatory course fees associated with those audited course will be waived. Any additional audited courses beyond the initial three within the same semester are subject to standard tuition and mandatory fees. Veterans and members of the Colorado National Guard wishing to audit course should contact an School Certifying Official at va.sco@unco.edu. This policy is established pursuant to Colorado HB 22-1407.
