A geographic focus on countries in the Global South, exploring how sustainable development policies and programs have impacted levels of poverty and inequality, use of natural resources, as well as rural and urban livelihoods.

This course takes an interdisciplinary approach toward understanding modern and traditional agriculture, and the ways in which these agricultural forms both clash and coalesce.
We will learn the science and policy considerations for water quality management under the Clean Water Act. As the headwaters state, Colorado has a critical responsibility for water management and we have many alumni who work in water. You will also learn how to conduct water quality sampling and how to consider water decisions with consideration of different groups.
