The graduate certificate program in the School of Art & Design offers an in-depth and individualized course of study. The program provides opportunities for K-12 art educators who are licensed to teach in Colorado and want to be able to teach concurrent enrollment Art classes, as well as appropriately degreed working artists who would like to teach undergraduate classes at a community college level or 4-year university as adjunct faculty. The eighteen credits of coursework completed in the certificate program may also be applied toward the thirty-credit Art and Design M.A. program requirements. Both the M.A. and the certificate are low residency hybrid models consisting of a short course summer residency and coursework conducted mostly online with some planned face-to-face meetings built around a working adult schedule. The certificate is a one-year program consisting of fall, spring, and a short course summer residency with coursework in a hybrid format.
Admission to the Art Studio Graduate Certificate program is approved by the faculty of the School of Art & Design following an evaluation of the applicant's admission materials. At the time of application to the Graduate School, application materials should be sent to: Coordinator of Graduate Studies, School of Art & Design, University of Northern Colorado, Campus Box 30, Greeley, CO 80639.
