Students that declare and complete the Sport Coaching major are not eligible to complete and attain a Sport and Exercise Science: Sport Coaching minor.
The program consists of three parts:
- Liberal Arts Core (LAC) Credits
- Required Major Credits
- University-Wide Credits
Program Description:
Sport coaching is an emerging field with diverse content areas and athletic populations. This major enables students to combine sport specific content, scientific knowledge and pedagogical practices in preparation for the continually changing world of coaching and athletics. Students who select this emphasis are not eligible for teacher licensure in Sport and Exercise Science.

- Prior to registering for SES 392, students must complete all SES prefix courses with a GPA of 2.7 or better, have current First Aid and CPR certification through completion of internship, and have consent of the Internship Director. In addition, the SES Internship Request Form must be submitted two weeks before the start of Final Exam week of the PRIOR SEMESTER. This request requires students to secure an internship experience and provide details of the internship site and supervisor.
- A grade of “C” or higher is required in all SES prefix courses; the course must be retaken until a "C" or higher is achieved, C minus is not acceptable.
