The University of Northern Colorado's bachelor's degree in Mexican American Studies with either a Liberal Arts or Secondary Teaching emphasis positions students for meaningful careers and intercultural competencies essential in today's global society. The gateway to your career opportunities in community health, globalization, teacher education, social justice and public policy or youth advocacy is through the Mexican American Studies program.
Faculty are readily available for advising and consultation. Internships have been established and majors and minors are encouraged to participate. Freshman and sophomore students may take part in this program and many courses count for Liberal Arts core credit.
Current research interests of the faculty include:

- Chicana/o Literature and Film
- Chicana/o movement
- Mexican American and Chicana/o Archival projects
- Social Justice and Public Policy
