With an emphasis on process improvement, the project management certificate will help to integrate leadership and team development skills to support the success of cross-functional business projects. The certificate is designed to give students the appropriate framework for leading projects that could improve the capability of the business processes. This increase in performance and decrease in process variation helps lead to defect reduction and improvement in profits, employee morale, and quality of products or services. Moreover, the certificate encompasses a body of coursework for a systematic approach to process improvement that is used to solve organizational or team-level challenges by introducing changes that result in organizational sustainability.
The 15-credit project management certificate is a credential that could add value to any organization and
helps to serve as a project team member, transition to the role of project manager and even to program management where they would manage a portfolio of projects. The Project Management certificate support students’ engagement with the body of knowledge directly relevant to a range of professional certification programs, including Project Management Professional Certificate, Six sigma Belt Certificate, and Certified Lean Practitioner Certificate. The certificate aids in students’ discovery and awareness of the importance of professional certifications in the field of project management and is expected to support students’ interest in pursuing these certifications.
