Prior Learning Assessment

The University of Northern Colorado (UNC) maintains a collaborative partnership with the Public Education and Business Coalition (PEBC) Teacher Residency program. Graduate students enrolled in the PEBC Teacher Residency program and admitted to one of the eligible UNC graduate programs, as outlined below, may receive up to 12 graduate credits toward their degree upon successful fulfillment of specific program requirements. Upon completion of the residency program, PEBC will provide official documentation verifying program completion for each student. The academic advisor is responsible for confirming the credit eligibility based on the criteria specified below.

MA Teaching Diverse Learners (includes CLD and Special Ed. Endorsements)33This program continues to welcome PEBC students, but the current PEBC curriculum may not be able to bring in any prior learning credentials.
The program should still be attractive to PEBS students if they need to secure both CLD and SPED endorsements with a master’s degree within 33 credits. By the state requirements, each endorsement needs to have 24 credit hours if completed separately.
