SOC 589 Practicum in Applied Research

Graduate students gain advanced applied research experience through team-based projects with real-world clients. The course emphasizes methodological rigor, project leadership, Social Return on Investment (SROI) analysis, and professional communication of sociological findings. Students refine skills in research design, data analysis, ethics review, and client reporting while developing leadership capacity for applied research and evaluation careers.
