The Bear Path to Medicine—Advanced Certificate is intended for juniors with a minimum 3.2 GPA. It provides advanced preparation through focused coursework in clinical experience readiness, MCAT preparation, and the medical school application and interview process. Together, the certificates offer an interdisciplinary, faculty-supported approach spanning Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, and Physics. They strengthen student success, improve retention, and create a clear, coherent premed pathway that enhances competitiveness for medical school and supports targeted pipeline development for UNC COM.
