BAAC 624 Professional Accounting Research, Communications and Ethics

Prerequisite: Graduate business standing or consent of instructor. This course emphasizes professional accounting research and the communication of the research findings to a variety of audiences. Students will become acquainted with a variety of accounting research tools and databases including FASB'S Codification, LexisNexis, Academic RIA Checkpoint, ACL and the AICPA's Professional Code of Conduct. Research projects will be performed in a variety of accounting situations. Also, the course is designed to raise students' level of awareness of interpersonal and interview skills. Additionally, the course will address ethical issues facing the accounting profession and accounting professionals.
