HIST 314 History of Colonial Latin America

This course is an introduction to Latin American history from pre-contact to independence. Main themes include how indigenous, European, and African cultures created a "New World"; the changing meanings of race and gender; and interactions between indigenous communities, slaves, workers, and women.
